The many ‘hats’ I wear…
My husband Chris and I are the proud parents of Katie, our little 1 lb. 5 oz. miracle turned two and a half year-old spitfire.  I teach math and coach girls track at Iron Mountain High School.  Sports (be it high school, college, pro, or our own family’s) are the driving force in our family schedule.  I’ve been an athlete and competitor in one way or another my entire life, and don’t see that changing until my body tells me it’s time to stop.  My family is THE bottom line and all that counts when push comes to shove.

What makes your heart pound?
A Michigan State Victory!

What gets you up in the morning? What keeps you up at night?
My daughter Katie (both)

What’s your guilty pleasure?
GTL…not the Jersey Shore way, the Hartman way (Gin, Tonic, Lime)

What do you say to the woman who says she doesn’t think she can run?
Prove yourself wrong

How do you want the world to remember you?
“There goes a fighter”

What running shoe are you most loyal to?
Nike+ Zoom Vomero 5

What’s your go-to flower color and why?
Black – I am a force to be reckoned with! (and my Spartan flower of course)

Secret super power?
Solving quadratic equations…who doesn’t love a nice parabola?

Who inspires you the most?
My Mom

What are the five words that best define you?
Sassy, hungry, competitor, lover, fighter (not WITH people, but FOR them)

Caffeinated beverage choice? And how often you do you need one?
Flavored coffee, black…every morning!

Pet peeves?
People who drive 45 mph, then go 90 when they get to a passing lane.

Travel destination on this earth that’s calling your name?
Vegas, baby!

Why do you run?
I run to cope – with stress, with anger, with frustration, with things I can’t control.  I run to feel strong and in control of my body, my pace, and my environment at that moment.  Oh, and the high I get from it is pretty appealing too :)

The time of day that I love to run the most is…
Whenever I’ve been able to have enough coffee to feel motivated, my allergy meds to have kicked in, and it not be a billion degrees outside…usually late morning.

What’s the life lesson you want to pass on to your children?
Believe in miracles.  You are one.

First words that come to your mind when you think of crossing a finish line?
Get off me, bitch!
