The many hats I wear:
I am a stay at home mom to four wonderful children -Kelsey, Lucas, Alex and Zak, wife to a very busy man, Brian, sister to Mike and Lisa, daughter of Mike & Evey, friend to many, classroom volunteer and JV girls basketball coach.
What makes your heart pound?
The Detroit Tigers, watching sports, country music, road trips, visiting big cities and closed, confined spaces (I’m just a little claustrophobic).
What gets you up in the morning?
My craving for coffee and a good morning workout, along with the quietness when my kids are still sleeping. What keeps me up at night? Nothing can keep me up at night! Lights out once I hit the pillow!
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Blueberry beer from the Vierling Restaurant in Marquette. Love it!
What do you say to the woman who says she doesn’t think she can run?
Hey, if I can run…ANYBODY can run! You can do anything you put your mind to!
How do you want the world to remember you?
As somebody who made a difference in their life, whether it’s through a small kind gesture or even through a few simple words.
What running shoe are you most loyal to?
I’m going to have to go with Saucony. After two bunion surgeries within a year, that seems to be the shoe that works for me.
What’s your go-to flower color and why?
Blue…because this is me. This is who I am.
Secret super power?
I’m awesome at rocking it out karaoke style! Talk Dirty to me by Poison is my all time favorite! Whether it’s with the band or straight karaoke, I can’t resist grabbing that mic and singing as if I was born to be a rockstar!
Who inspires you the most?
What are the five words that best define you?
Fun-loving, strong-minded, loyal, bold, kind
Caffeinated beverage choice? And how often you do you need one?
Coffee…two cups a day.
Why do you run?
I run to stay in shape, but most of all to help me stay focused and clear my mind of any stress…even this crazy mind can think clearly after a few miles!
The time of day that I love to run the most is…
It’s a toss up between early morning and around sunset. As long as it’s cool, it doesn’t really matter.
What’s the life lesson you want to pass on to your children?
Take chances. Don’t settle for anything but the best. Be yourself, and love who you are.
First words that come to your mind when you think of crossing a finish line?
Yes! I did it!
