The hats I wear:
Tori’s next door neighbor.
Tori’s gynecologist, Sarah’s gynecologist, Monica’s gynecologist, Linda’s, Korie’ s… ok you got the point. I’m an OBGYN. One that takes care of her friends as well
A mom of three independent, fun loving, adorable kids- Ella 6, Jack 4, Dylan 2. They keep me busy!! My husband and I balance each other out and work hard to be the best we can be to each other and our family.
Oldest of three girls. Love my sister time and love being known as one of the “Gauthier girls”
Part of a huge extended family, one full of traditions and value family to the utmost degree. My parents would do anything for us and have shown me how to be the best parent I can be.
I truly live out the statement of work hard and play harder. Love to have fun and love to travel. I don’t sit still long and that’s just the way I like it!
My love- college sports. All Michigan State baby
What makes your heart pound?
When your next door neighbor comes in hemorrhaging while pregnant. You seem calm on the outside, but inside you’re freaking out. Every friend that I have delivered, operated on, taken care of makes my heart pound. Hard.
Oh and pre race night. That does it to me too.
What gets you up in the morning? What keeps you up at night?
I love the night so it doesn’t take much. Friends, my sisters, drinks, and just because it’s too early to go to bed.
Morning, yuck. I get up because I have to work. But coffee and shakeology make it better.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
LAS VEGAS! Favorite place in the world – have been there over 20 times. Drinking and gambling. Love. Love. LOVE.
What do you say to the woman who says she doesn’t think she can run?
Ahh ladies… look at me. I am so NOT a “runner.” It’s about putting yourself out there, one foot in front of another. The journey, the experience, makes taking those first steps worth it. If you think you can, you will.
How do you want the world to remember you?
As someone who made a difference in their life, genuinely.
What running shoe are you most loyal to?
What’s your go-to flower color and why?
Red. Read the card. Definitely not for the color but for what it stands for. That is what my email-turned-anthem during my ah-ha moment is all about. Whenever I have to run after working 24 hours I always wear red (so that’s a lot!) Bringing it every DAMN day. Caring for the world around you. It takes strength to do what you love. Ahhh this is me – makes me feel all my time, effort and sacrifice is worth it.
Secret super power?
I am an awesome organizer and I LOVE doing it! What I aspire to be – a personal organizer And I’m so not kidding.
What are the five words that best define you?
Hard working. Efficient. Authentic. Fun. Trustworthy
Caffeinated beverage choice? And how often you do you need one?
DIET COKE- at least two a day and if hung over a McDonalds large diet coke is a necessity.
Travel destination on this earth that’s calling your name?
Why do you run?
This one is hard to answer. I did initially because I said I would and I “had” to check off each day off the training program. NOW… that’s a different story. It makes me feel good. It makes me feel a part of something BIG. It makes me feel worthy. It allows me to realize I can push myself both physically and mentally in ways I never thought possible. It keeps me sane. But for me it’s really about the journey and the friends I have made through it.
And let’s be real the beer after a long run tastes AMAZING!
The time of day that I love to run the most is…
When I’m done
What’s the life lesson you want to pass on to your children?
Don’t ever not try something because you think you’re not good enough. I have only done things I succeed at. Running has taught me that even though I’m not going to win, I can still be a success just by finishing. It’s an important lesson, one that I didn’t learn until recent years. I want my children to be successful, to push themselves to be the best they can be, but also to do things that they think they can’t and just by doing so that defines success.
First words that come to your mind when you think of crossing a finish line?
Hands in the air!
