Declare It Day is all about motivating yourself, your friends and your Fellow Flowers to to commit to and crush your goals. This year we hope to encourage more women than ever to believe in themselves and our goal is to inspire each and every one of you to commit to and crush your goals.
In doing so, we recognize just how important it is for all of us to come together and help each other along that journey before, during and after. That’s why this year we’re hosting two #DeclareItDay Twitter chats so that we can all discuss goal setting, obstacles and how to overcome them and staying motivated and inspired in our journey to reach our goals. Alexandra Jamieson CHHC, AADP, is a best-selling author, functional nutrition coach, detox expert, professionally trained healthy gourmet chef, and “cravings whisperer.” She has been seen on Oprah, Martha Stewart Living, CNN, Fox News, USA Today and People Magazine. Alex delivers inspirational keynote speeches and workshops around the globe, and was declared Elle Magazines Coach for January 2015.
Alex was the co-star and co-creator of the Oscar-nominated documentary Super Size Me and the The Great American Detox Diet and offers remarkably sane – and tasty – advice on how to detox, live healthfully and feel fantastic.
Her forthcoming book Women, Food & Desire was released on January 6th, 2015. She lives in Brooklyn where she juggles, somewhat gracefully, raising her 8 year old son, running her company AlexandraJamieson.com, and riding her bicycle to the food co-op.
Toni Carey’s passion for health and fitness led to the co-creation of Black Girls RUN!, a grassroots organization that encourages and inspires African-American women to live a healthy lifestyle. While currently serving at the helm of Black Girls RUN!, she is also a freelance writer for Zelle (a Runner’s World publication) and a blog ambassador for Brooks Running.
She has been named one of the “30 Black Bloggers You Should Know” by The Root, Essence Magazine’s “35 Under 35: Young Black and Amazing Women,” and recently received Toyota’s Standing O-Vation Award presented at Oprah’s 2014 “The Life You Want” Weekend in Atlanta.
She currently calls Atlanta home pursuing her mantra of, “Do What You Love. Love What You Do.”
Sarah Bowen Shea is the co-founder of Another Mother Runner, along with Dimity McDowell. Sarah and Dimity started AMR after their first book, Run Like a Mother, debuted in 2010; they followed it up with Train Like a Mother in 2012. Sarah and Dimity eagerly await the March 3 publication of their third book, Tales from Another Mother Runner. A veteran of a dozen marathons and countless shorter races, Sarah is a contributing editor for Runner’s World.
fitlosophy’s founder, Angela Mader (@fitbook), created the company’s flagship product, fitbook™, and subsequent line of products and programs, to promote embracing a healthy lifestyle and taking a positive approach to reaching goals. What was once her own personal battle has evolved into her passion for positively influencing the lives of others. Born and raised in colorado, Angela is a graduate of CU-Boulder, holds an MBA from UC-Irvine, and has certifications in personal training and fitness nutrition.
