As we prepared for our afternoon run, one thing was for certain. We were wearing red. With intention, purpose, meaning and love, we clipped in our flowers and hit the pavement in honor and memory of 19 young men who lost their lives fighting a wildfire in Arizona. To think of the fight they lost while caring for the world around them is unimaginable.
We dedicated our last mile, our dreaded uphill mile, to them. Running with purpose quickly puts things into perspective and suddenly there was no hill too big, too difficult or too hard for us to climb. The passion and commitment that they gave to their jobs is a selfless act of bravery. We honored them, their families and their work.
It takes STRENGTH to do what you LOVE.
